Abu Dhabi Unveils Mussafah Road Upgrade to Cut Traffic Congestion

Abu Dhabi transport authorities have unveiled a comprehensive infrastructure enhancement project for Mussafah, aimed at substantially reducing travel delays and facilitating regional commercial mobility.

The strategic project spans approximately 13 kilometres along the critical E30 corridor and 8th Street. The upgraded network is planned to accommodate rising traffic volumes, offering smoother transit for both daily commuters and heavy transport vehicles operating across the Mussafah industrial district.

In addition to key junction redesigns and lane capacity improvements, future transport master planning incorporates an undersea link featuring two tunnels. This connection will link the eastern tip of Abu Dhabi Island with Mussafah beneath Khor Al Maqta and the Al Hudayriyat Island channel.

Municipal officials noted that the continuous capital investments in surface transport form a core pillar of the emirate's broader urban master plan, ensuring long-term resilience and sustained economic growth.
