Etihad Cancels Riyadh Flights to October 19 as Gulf Travel Halts

Etihad Airways has cancelled all passenger services operating between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh until Monday, extending flight disruptions across United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabian aviation corridors.

Flight cancellations spread throughout the Gulf region as airports and commercial airlines responded to escalating security risks in the Saudi capital. In addition to the extended suspension by Abu Dhabi's flag carrier, Dubai-based flydubai announced the halt of all scheduled flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Abha, while Emirates and Sharjah-based Air Arabia also cancelled multiple regional routes.

Aviation analytics company Cirium reported that roughly 46.4 percent of scheduled flights across Saudi Arabia had been cancelled, with widespread disruptions impacting key travel hubs including Jeddah and Dammam.

Air carriers across the Gulf Cooperation Council stated they are continuously reviewing dynamic operational safety guidelines and urged travelers to consult official airline portals before arriving at airports.
